Spanish air plants/Tillandsia Usneoides/old man’s beard are epiphytes. They do not root in soil but rather grow attached to other plants or objects. Spanish moss is an epiphyte which absorbs nutrients (especially calcium) and water from the air and rainfall. We classified them under neglectable plants as well because you can forget about them for a while after initial care that includes soaking them in water and placing them somewhere with bright lighting. They look greyish but once you spray them with water, the color changes to green.
