Desert Rose, (Adenium obesum) is native to arid areas of Africa including Madagascar, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. This plant survives on neglect and will even be happier when its needs are met. Desert Rose is a succulent bush with thick fleshy branches. The ‘obesum ‘ name refers to the large fat base of the plant.
Prefers bright to full sun. Rotate plant evenly to encourage growth of straight, strong stems.
Desert Rose needs plenty of water but cannot sit in standing water. It only needs watering when the soil feels dry. In the winter, it only needs water every three or four weeks. This lets it be dormant so it can bloom better in the springtime
Prefers well draining soils
