Crown of Thorns, Euphorbia milii, is native to Madagascar. It can be temperamental but it is resilient. Prefers to be on the dryer side. If subjected to moist and humid conditions, it will likely lose its thorns.
Bright light to full sun. Plants that don’t bloom aren’t getting enough light.
Allow the top 1 inch of soil to dry out between each watering session. Water less in winter when the plant rests.
Grows best with average room temperatures 16-24°C; A cooler winter rest of 13° will help it to bloom.
A fast-draining medium such as cactus potting mix works best.
These succulent plants don’t need a lot of watering and will blossom pretty pink flowers.
